remember me, remember us

Ears see no words
eyes hear no sounds
finger-tipped traced
contours just echoes
fading through time

time when lilacs weep
pale-faced tears to seep
through cracks in puddles
and a lark hums
once known tunes

tunes with no melody
songs without words
winters without Springs
days with no purpose
hours with no end

no end in sight,
but as dawn breaks
senses glow
with the heat of memories

memories
forged a long time ago
