Merlin’s Journey

Travel with me

To a familiar place in my heart

Familiar as friendship

Hand in hand, secrets shared

Laughing spontaneously

Enter through the Looking Glass

The Rabbit Hole, the Wardrobe

Never Never Land

On the count of three

Replace memory with joy

Discover glee

Dash eagerly towards childhood.

Unburdened, innocent, without guile

Trusting imagination, heroic, loyal

Willing to dare, brave comrades

journey backwards

Where hurt is kissed away, scars superficial

Pain only a slow remembering, not self-inflicted

Neither gravity not age contain me

I am propelled, urgent as labour

To know my first breath
