Body or Mind

Does the body obey the mind
Or is it the other way around?
The reason I ask
Is that I have found
That the imperceptible nature of the body
Resists my wishes,
Takes control,
Obstinately refusing,
I’m loosing capability;
Movement restricted
In all directions;
It questions,
How?
How can I go on,
Defeated before I begin.
What joy is there in living
With a body worn sore,
Aching to do more
But with a brain sending messages
I can’t explain,
And so …
Other people assume they know.

They have no idea.
What’s clear
To me,
My body’s broken
And my mind lives in fear.
