Lorraine Wilson grew up on the west coast and in the midwest before settling in Texas where she had a long career in education. Her Parkinson’s diagnosis initially eroded her confidence and made her feel like damaged goods. She worried that Parkinson’s was robbing her husband of a hard earned retirement. Lorraine has sought ways to serve the Parkinson’s community and help others on their PD journey. Art is one way she has chosen to cope with the changes brought about by Parkinson’s. She enjoys working with different materials and processes. The time spent making things takes her away from the emotional strain of living with PD. Gifting the things she makes adds value to her life. Teaching others adds purpose.
