Kathy Bovino

Katharine Bovino is a newly retired Elementary Special Education Teacher of 39 years. She has lived in Washington DC for 32 years with her incredibly supportive husband Mike and her current cat Henry. In 2018, at age 60, she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. Since her diagnosis and retirement, she has made a point of expanding her life and tapping into her creativity. Katharine paints, is working on both a children’s book about her cat and a collection of writings on her journey with Parkinson’s. She boxes and dances to improve functionality and joy, and hopes to volunteer at a local animal shelter. She does a lot of other things, too, but couldn’t fit them on the page.
