Birds Only Sing To Those Who Listen
The poems in this little book are written for those who, like its author, prize poetry for its music above all else. Composed over the span of half a century, they are serious, comic, skeptical, romantic or naive in turn, reflecting the changing seasons of one poetic soul. They all share, however, the same inexhaustible delight in the interplay of sound and sense, of rhyme and meter, that is the beating heart of traditional English poetry.
