Her Eyes

I am drawn to her eyes, they are dancing

Rich in confidence, immeasurable trust

More than joy, they hold promise, excitement, pride, pleasure

They tease, they laugh they are fixed on you

In that vision I see everything you know

I understand all your truth

I could never betray those eyes

Upon reflection it is clear that your eyes meet hers

For one moment your eyes sought to know me

Held me in your gaze

Watching you, I let you see me

Your eyes saw me vulnerable, raw with pain

Tenderly kissing my fears, with all your strength

Brought me out of my darkness

I emerge from the shadows

Knowing you will never look at me again

Knowing I will never have eyes that see like hers.
