Mountains to Miracles

My day’s routine, laid out in my head

Reviewed each step, while still in bed

I’ll push myself, commitments made

This adversity is my adventure

Take a moment, to reflect,

on where strengths, do intersect

Face my foe, with due respect

This beast, a disease relentless

I’m leveling mountains, oh can you see

sculpting life’s barriers, into victories

Discovered a new confidence, a potential to achieve,

stoking the fire within me

Tossed into a life, fuelled by ‘I can’t do’

“Is that the best that we’ve got? Well if so, we’re through”,

shouted my inner will

Ambushed by the reality, of the day ahead

My mind’s battlefield has me, pharmaceutically misled

Can’t wait for a life, to then live it in ease

Cuz living life means, facing adversity

The simplest of tasks, now the steepest hill’s grade

Victories accomplished, through little miracles we’ve made

These triumphs I share, well some may scoff

A victory, a cheer, I’m not written off

Clawing back my independence

Know where I was, not where I’ll be

It’s the same old world, not the same old me

I’m overcoming my mind’s resistance

Just takes a little longer…

Converting everyday mountains into miraculous accomplishments.
