From the Ground Up
The colors and hues
Sage, celery, green shades
Tones of blues
Cerulean , deep indigo and powder blue
Collections of colors make a patchwork of parts that become a landscape
Of peaks and gorges
I see the hills and the green grass
Like the paths in the woods, and I see water at the edge of the river that leads to the ocean
Like a scene from my childhood and the tree that I like to sit under
To secret refuge
When the weather was sunny
Or times of thunder
And then feel connected to the world
And this moment of now
Because of the tree
It was just like me
It would change with the season
And the roots kept growing, I saw and watched the tree grow
And bloom, and then the flowers turn to leaves, which then fall in the winter
In the barren season
From the ground up
That is the direction I look to
Always up
It is my reason
