Nick Pernisco

Nick Pernisco is a social entrepreneur and author with over 20 years of experience in the technology and media industries. He has launched several companies and non-profits and has served on several boards and commissions, including the King County Civil Rights Commission, the Redmond Business Fee and Tax Advisory Committee, Action for Media Education, the Telemedia Council, among others.

In addition to his business and non-profit work, Nick has taught courses about media at various universities and community colleges. His courses have included media literacy, race and gender in journalism, and radio and television production.

In 2011, Nick was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and he has since become an outspoken advocate, launching the fitness brand Parkinson’s Warrior, which includes a book, a YouTube channel, an informative website, a Facebook group, and a disease-tracking
