Mike Riley

Mike was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2004. Like many he was able to hide my diagnosis for several years before that became more difficult. After DBS surgeries, and multiple medication journeys, his 38-year career in Healthcare Administration came to an end in 2018. Looking to find an outlet for my creativity my Movement Disorder Specialist recommended painting.
He found a passion that I never knew existed. I soon learned that painting provided me an escape that brought me such peace and joy. A sense of normalcy if you will.
Over the past several years he has learned that it is possible to translate that joy to others through my art. That is what brings him true joy! I work primarily in watercolor, painting a variety of subject matters.
Mike considers himself am very blessed to have the support and unconditional love from his family, in both my art, and as he navigates the ever-changing landscape of the world we call ‘living with Parkinsons.’ With his wife Lisa, they have two children, and two beautiful granddaughters.
